Color and Aura: How Do They Reflect You?

Thinking about colors and their meanings makes me think back to elementary school art class. Sitting there while the teacher slabs a pile of paint on a canvas, and asks you to think about how each color makes you feel.

I used to be confused about what my teacher meant. How could a simple color make one feel an array of emotions? The primary colors, tertiary colors, cool colors, and warm colors all collectively work with one another to emphasize certain thoughts and feelings within each human.

After I finally listened to my body and the way each color made me feel, I started to pay attention to the differences in color around the world.

Winter, spring, summer, and fall were no longer just seasons for me, but they were now colors that surrounded each environmental change, which started to deeply affect my mood, and mental health.

Winter. The snow falling, the beaming white glow on the ground emphasized a feeling of warmth, but loneliness at the same time, lighting a path, for we are about to enter a cold, dark, and hollow season. Yet, the snow could also represent feelings of joy, spirit, and comfort.

It’s crazy to think about the numerous ways that color can be interpreted, and just how easily it can alter from person to person. Winter is just one example of the way color impacts the world, but you can take any season.

Spring. The flowers start to bloom, the joyous chirping that wakes me up each morning, the damp ground from rain the night before, and the beginning of a brighter season. The buds bursting through the once bare and broken trees are now all I see. The endless display of color creates a feeling inside that I cannot begin to explain.

Everyone has their favorite compliment to receive whether they admit it or not. Mine would be hearing that I remind those of sunshine. A ball of joy that bursts into any room I walk into. I would choose to hear that over any compliment, any day.

The color yellow. Yellow is the ultimate happy color. I mean who doesn’t smile from ear to ear when looking at the bright, fun, happy, and illuminating hue.

Some people may take offense to their personality in comparison to the color red. Most people believe red exerts anger, or frustration however when I think of red I sense passion and determination.

Similarly to blue. Many say blue radiates sadness, but I see it as being open and a sense of tranquility. Colors can go in so many directions, interpretations, or perceptions.

It’s weird to think that colors like green, purple, or brown can be related to a real life meaning, but that’s the truth. In life there is no right or wrong. It is the way you interpret each and every situation, everyday of your life.

If you choose to see red as anger then so be it, but if you choose to see red as passion and desire then that’s fine too. There is no proper way to live life. There’s no rule book, or guide on how to be human. It is all in the air, and every single person has the freedom to think, believe, and choose differently.

The way you see life is up to you, the positives, the negatives, the good, or the bad. Take that mindset through the rest of your life. Think about it, how you want to live is up solely to YOU. No one else. Do not let the opinion of society, or the following of others get in the way of what makes you truly happy.
